A Reason Not to Be So Hard on Yourself

In my line of work I meet a lot of people, and hear a lot of stories from many different backgrounds. But there are a lot of similarities between them that connect us, and one of them is that we are really hard on ourselves.

Thing is, when we are hard on ourselves, we typically take that pain and project it onto others through judgement. In turn, those people feeling judged, then criticize and judge themselves...and the cycle continues over and over.

So, if you want to do one thing today that will help those around you

- start by being kind and compassionate to yourself.

You might be surprised to see how much more you have to give when you're not weighed down with judgement.

And in case nobody's told you yet today, you're doing the best you can do and it's enough, your heart is pure, and you have a great deal to offer this world. These are universal truths and I don't need to know you personally to know that it's true.

You are an irreplaceable piece of this bizarre and beautiful world.

Remember that ;)

~Wishing you a peaceful journey, wherever it may take you <3

Thank you for this beautiful reminder! We are often our own worst critics, but you're so right – when we practice self-compassion, we have so much more to give to others. Your words are a gift, and they came at the perfect time for me. Just like a thorough home inspection in Maryland uncovers hidden issues that need attention, this post reminds us to look inward and be gentle with ourselves. Sending you so much gratitude!
